The seasoning figs of Donna Francesca are a surprise: able to accompany very different types of dishes and recipes, but also very pleasant to the palate with raw foods, fruits, vegetables and leafy vegetables.

Crafted traditionally with 100% Italian figs.

Available in 150gr, 290gr and 700gr.

ALTITUDE OF FIG TREE GROVES: 200 to 380 metres above the level of the sea, at the border between pre-Murgia and High Murgia

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES: the Seasoning Figs is produced by slow-cooking figs at low heat, continuously stirring. This type of cooking allows for the evaporation of vegetation liquids and the concentration of sugars into a thick syrup.

PRESERVING METHODS: the Seasoning Figs is filtered and left to cool down naturally. It is subsequently stored in dark glass containers and away from heat sources to preserve intact its natural organoleptic qualities. The Seasoning Figs is safe, namely it cannot be altered by microorganisms, because of its naturally high sugar content.

TASTE: the Seasoning Figs has a very sweet and characteristic taste of extract. Its intense scent is reminiscent of dried prunes, honey, cocoa powder, dates, dried figs and raisins. It has spicy notes of cinnamon and caramel. The sweetness of Seasoning Figs has a fresh counterpart flavor which produces a harmonious balance with its delicate flavor. The ending note is very persistent and reminiscent of dried fruit.

PAIRINGS: Excellent on salads, raw or cooked vegetables, stews, fish, cheese, desserts, fruit and with ice-cream. Exquisite in cocktails, the Seasoning Figs is the irreplaceable signature ingredient in traditional Christmas pastries from Apulia.

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES: The “Seasoning cherries” is produced by slow cooking fresh cherries on a low heat with continuous stirring. The pressing of the fruit is soft. The slow cooking allows the evaporation of vegetable liquids and the concentration of sugars.

PRESERVING METHODS: The “Seasoning cherries” is filtered and then cooled naturally. To keep its natural organoleptic characteristics intact, it is stored in dark glass containers at a controlled temperature and away from heat sources. Baked cherries is a biologically stable product, thanks to its high concentration of natural sugars.

PAIRINGS: Excellent on salads, raw vegetables, cold cuts, game, pork, foie gras, salmon, octopus, ricotta, fresh cheeses. Unique taste on yogurt and ice cream, to create cool and refreshing drinks. Ideal for preparing original cocktails. Its use in pastry is versatile.

TASTE: The “Seasoning cherries” is immediately intense on the tongue with hints of fresh fruit, such as plum, apricot and black cherry. The ending note is sweet with pronounced acid perception. It offers aromas of dried plum, honey, bitter cocoa, red fruit and coffee notes on the nose. Overall pleasant and elegant on the palate.
